Allocation of BI Academy Players

Badminton Ireland have made available 6 of their Academy Players the time and opportunity to partake in the BPL. These include some of Ireland’s top young players and future badminton stars and they all bring an extra dimension to the Badminton Premier League.

The 6 BI Academy Players have been allocated and spread across the 5 BPL Clubs to provide balance. All the BPL Clubs are delighted to have this injection of talent from our top young players and we all look forward to seeing them in action in the Badminton Premier League.



Nhat is currently ranked no 2 in Ireland and at only 16 year old is already a European Champion. Nhat is also the youngest player ever to win the Irish Nationals at just 15.  Nhat brings so much extra Bite to The Panthers and will definitely make them ‘Purr .


Paul is a local player that hails from Terenure, he has many Leinster Caps and is now a regular on the Irish Panel. Paul has an U17 European Bronze medal and in the recent U19’s Irish Open won the Gold with Nhat in the Doubles – A super player that will greatly help the Spartan’s in their 1st Season in the BPL.



Rachael is another badminton star from the Raphoe Badminton Club, Donegal. Rachael has many Irish Caps and competes regularly on the European Circuit. Recently Rachael did a clean sweep and was a Triple winner in Leinster’s recent Autumn Open.  Rachael will be a great asset to the ‘Mavericks Squad.


Sara hails for the Northside and it is only fitting she has become a “KILLER” and joins her sister Rachel in the KADCA Squad. Sara has made great progress in the last season and secured a Gold Medal in the Irish U19s open in the women’s double’s with Rachael Darragh. Sara recently won the Leinster Autumn Open double title with Rachael, beating many experienced pairs on the way.

Moya Ryan – Ailesbury Falcons


Moya is from Killaloe, Co. Clare and is currently ranked No. 1 in Ireland at Under 19. Moya has recently won the singles in the Munster Open. Moya has many Irish Caps, the most recent at Hellas Junior International taking Silver in the doubles with Kate Frost.  Moya brings extra youth and flair to the Falcons Squad.


Aisling also hails from the ‘Banner County and has won many Junior & Senior titles in Munster & Leinster. Aisling has represented Leinster in the ICC  and has also represented Ireland on many occasions. Aisling currently coaches the National U17 Squad and she brings great experience and talent to the Panthers Squad – definitely a force to be reckoned with.
